History lesson #4 - Nitpickers

Pet monkeys were popular with the wealthy to rid themselves of nits. The monkeys would search a persons hair for the nits, there would also be a monkey owner who would hire his monkey out to do the nitpicking. One of the tapestry works at the Schonbrunn Palace depicts a village scene including a monkey looking for nits.
