History lesson #1 - The term "Hangover"

According to our entertaining & knowledgeable original London tour guide, the term "hangover" was the day after public hangings, where the people had drunk too much during the days entertainment & were still suffering the ill effects of alcohol the next day.

So far we haven't witnessed any hangings or hangovers, so haven't been able to prove this story.
